What do hunting tests mean?

Hound trials (HZ) are hunting trials that test whether a dog is capable of real hound work – that is, working independently, persistently and loudly on the trail of game and safely pushing it in front of the hunter. It is not about "obedience on a leash", but about instincts, courage, perseverance and intelligence .

What kind of dogs are they intended for?

Primarily for:

  • hounds (Slovak kopov, barbarians, Balkan hounds, etc.)
  • often, they can also be taken by hounds (dachshunds, terriers), if the rules of the exams allow it
